Natural features
- The Northern Mountains β a great snow-capped range walls off the entire north, beyond which lies the frozen land of Thorsheim. At the range's heart grows The Great Tree of Morningstar, rising from the Well of Morningstar, with the vale of Mount Basin below it.
- Forests β Brightwoods covers the northwest; Alfwyld Forest (the halflings' homeland) lies in the centre; the woods of Borea spread across the northeast.
- Rivers β the Iridescent River runs from The Sunken City in the west down to the sea. A great central river flows south out of the northern mountains, past Rivermount, and widens toward Salinax Bay in the southeast. In the northeast a river pours off a waterfall to the icy Tahn'ivers Shore.
- Wastes & wetlands β The Burning Passage, a scorched volcanic scar in the southwest, holds the crater "Fall of the First War". The Ivory Bogs spread across the south.
- Seas & isles β the Floating Isles drift off the western coast; the Orcish Territory and East Trade lie on the eastern isles; the Broken Isles scatter the far southeast.
North β the mountains, Thorsheim & Borea
- Thorsheim β the frozen land in the far north, beyond the mountains.
- Borea (northeast) β dwarven forest-and-mountain country: Ambers Call (a ruined dwarven city carved into the mountains), Herra (a dwarven village at the forest's edge), Seawatch (the far-northern dwarven harbour linking north and south), and the thriving dwarven city of Thir.
- Mithandrir's Watch β a watch on the eastern edge, toward the coast.
Northwest & west β Westfall
- Castle Black β a humanβelven stronghold and sentinel of the northwest, sister fortress to Rivermount; together they guard the north.
- Serexa Fortress β a great northern stronghold watching over The Sunken City and the dark forces near it.
- The Sunken City (Sunken City) β a cursed, fallen elven metropolis on the Iridescent River, near The Broken Bridge.
- Westfall (the western plains) β Singaper (a crossroads town between the eastern and western lands), Lutovia (home of the cathedral of Taninsam and its paladins), and the pastoral Goatfields.
Centre β the Northern Marches
- Rivermount β the elves' northern bastion, built on a river below the mountains (sister to Castle Black).
- Alfwyld Forest β the halfling homeland; Rootfield is a halfling village just beyond it.
- Jacobsville β a wealthy town at the heart of the region, home to the Church of the Morningstar.
- Also Finnstown, Sawwell, Sarah'sville, and The Old Bridge.
East β Eastwatch
- Hogfoot β a dwarven forge-village at the southern end of Eastwatch; Halfhill β a human town given to the dwarves.
- Northbridge and Southbridge β linked valley villages (Southbridge lies just south of Northbridge).
- Tidewall and Holywell β quiet settlements on the eastern seashore.
- Embersail β a dwarf-and-human port on Salinax Bay, the gateway to the southern regions; Fort Salinax β an ancient fortress on a rocky island off the southeast coast, a bulwark against orc and troll raids.
- East Trade β the second-largest human city, far to the east on a wide river that meets the open sea; a gateway to other realms.
South & southeast β Arfalia
- Tyralia β the human capital, a great walled harbour-city on the southern coast; Avenstoff is a market town near it.
- Lorenzia β the elven capital, set in a mountain-ringed valley of the south-centre; Puddle sits at the foot of its mountains.
- Feldale β a hidden Moon-Elf settlement woven into the canopy of the southern forest.
- Also Bottomway and Filax.
Southwest β the Burning Passage
- Nortaq β a city razed to ash in the First War, in the far southwest.
- Varrow β a humble settlement of the deep south.
- The Floating Isles β islands torn loose and lifted by the cataclysmic magic of the First War, off the western sea.
Peoples
Broadly: dwarves hold the northern mountains and Borea (Ambers Call, Herra, Seawatch, Hogfoot, Halfhill, Thir); elves the strongholds of Rivermount and Lorenzia and the fallen Sunken City; humans the great cities of Tyralia and East Trade (with Jacobsville and Avenstoff); halflings Alfwyld Forest and Rootfield; Moon Elves the hidden Feldale; and orcs and trolls the eastern and southwestern wilds.
